Who We Are!

David Pett was the fifth of eight children, born during the Great Depression into a humble farm family with respect for the Bible. Although raised in church, he was not born again until 1950. From that time on he became an avid student of the Word of God, graduating from St. Paul Bible College and pastoring several churches. His appreciation for spiritual music, poetry as well as history finds a way into his ministry.

Pastor Pett has a passion for writing, having generated articles in magazines and newspapers, in addition to his most recent work ~ CAN THESE BONES LIVE. [See "THE BOOK" on this Web Site]. He also published a monthly newspaper ~ The Bridge ~ wrote two Christian History Manuals and a monthly newsletter, all due to his deep concern for the Church and the Nation.

Evelyne, his precious wife since 1952, has been a godly support and helper as they share unique spiritual insights with each other. These eventually find their way into print.  They have two adopted children ~ Bethann and Nathan, now adults.

My Testimony

I was raised in a very religious family. I cannot recall missing church more than one Sunday. However, I saw it as useless information for it did not relate to my life. That does not mean the preacher, the church or my parents were wrong. I was the problem: My spirit was dead to God. I did not know Him!

When I was 20 years old a lay preacher asked: "David, are you going to heaven when you die?" I answered: "I hope so!" He simply replied: "You can know so," and said no more. I cried myself to sleep that night: I thought my life in church got me all I needed, but suddenly I needed something more. If I belonged to the right church and believed what it taught, certainly that would be enough ~ but it was not. Now I find out I could have assurance that I was saved, but it was an assurance I did not have.

The following day a lay preacher came to where I worked and he pulled a New Testament from behind the store counter. He showed me several verses, including John 3:36, "He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he that does not believe the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him." The words of Jesus in John 5:24 deeply impressed me: Jesus said the one who hears and believes has everlasting life "and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death to life." That was the assurance I needed, and just that quickly I "passed from death to life" and knew I was saved.

It was not long before the Lord Jesus called me into His service. From my first years and onward in St. Paul Bible College [now Crown College], I acquired a deep interest in the Bible and Christian History. Over the past fifty-five years there have been devastating changes taking place, in society and even more so in the Church. The Church has lost its dynamic influence, adopting the world's methods and ways.

In studying Church History I found the Providence of God at work throughout the History of America. I also saw God's intention for America. I saw why America became the greatest nation on the face of the earth. As I invaded historic books, I found truth that had been hidden from the American classroom. The facts have been kept from us ~ information that must be brought into the light of day.
